Welcome to Becca's Quest for Creativity, a personal crafting focused blog!
who: I'm Becca S and I currently own and manage 13 crafting based challenge blogs!! YES! The majority of them have themes ranging from fantasy, critters, farm and/or country, anything with a heart goes, home (inside or out), food and/or drink, etc. This posting is about food and/or drink.
From a very young age, about 4-5 years old, I stood or knelt on a chair to rinse dishes and place them in the drain rack! I also got tasked with counting out silverware and napkins! About 5 to 6 years old, mom started letting me try cracking eggs for her to put in cookie or cake batters. At age 9, I enrolled in 4-H Club with Introduction to Cooking. Grating carrots. Slicing carrots. Peeling potatoes and apples. Making rice cereal w marshmallows & butter treats. Simple beginning tasks. Then came Introduction to Baking with foods such as brownies, meatloaf, baked potatoes, apple crisp and peach crisp!
why: As a child of parents who farmed on and off, grandparents and most of their parents who farmed, preparing basic comfort foods has always been a constant. How to use foods/drinks in creative endeavors makes for interesting mental challenges. Generally I like to do funny puns. FQGGCB started about 2.5 years ago to provide a specialty niche in crafting challenge blogs available in blog world. The theme wording has been tweaked to include 'drink'. To me anything food goes included beverages but maybe some folks don't.
when: FQGGCB #29 starts on April 27 and ends on May 26, 2026.
