why: This post features new shaped tag and shaped card design team projects for HQFSCAT or Heart's Quest for Shaped Cards and Tags challenges blog! The 4th challenge session this year still focuses on anything goes for a shaped card or a shaped tag. The only standard shape not allowed is a rectangle...HOWEVER altered variations are accepted--dog-ear topped, scallop-topped, deckle-edge or other decorative scissor cutting on edge(s), rounded corners, etc. Box style structures and other dimensional fun folds are accepted.

My shaped tag has a dog-ear top and also supports the theme of FarmQuest Home Challenges because it has kitchen tools. If I had included images of foods, it could also support the theme of anything food goes at FarmQuest Grocery Game Challenges. As owner, I can't enter there but my readers can!!!

Project #2 is a z-fold shaped card. My front folded section has a two-layered stamped round focal element that is adhered partially off the folded right side to create a tab. Birthday occasion.

when: HQFSCAT #4 for 2026 (#16 from our beginning) starts April 2 and closes on April 30, 2026.

what: Project #1: dog-eared tag with cooking tools theme

how-to & vendor notes for #1:

1. buttons (shanks cut off) for tiny spoon and spatula = Dress It Up's 'The Master Chef' package

2. neon green posterboard = Art Skills (cut for base panel)

3. white CS = Georgia Pacific

4. stencils of wood spoon, wood spatula and fork = on the same kitchen tools stencil sheet = Crafter's Square

5. dual-tip green marker = Art Skills

6. three green tones colored pencils = Marvy Uchida

7. yellow gingham fabric ribbon + yellow cording = different products/packs from Crafter's Square (cording comes with 2 other colors in its pack)

8. thin old string inked/dyed with green marker = both stash items

9. spoon and spatula buttons are adhered with clear crystal drops = Nuvo
