who: Hello! I'm Becca S who has been done craft blogging since about 2010. I got started with swapping paper-crafted items through a craft hobby store's website message board. Then someone in the group mentioned trying Blogger and that has led to me still being involved in blogging for 16+ years!

why: FQHCB or FarmQuest Home Challenge Blog has been around for almost 1 year! It was a do-over/makeover for FarmQuest HomeStyle Kitchen. Now, any room of the house or typical items found outside of a home can be submitted. Anything Home Goes theme. 

when: FQHCB #11 begins August 2 and continues until September 20, 2026.

how-to & vendor notes for #1:

1. yellow pastel cardstock is half of a full folded sheet = Colorbok pastel cardstock pad

who: I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old craftsy-artsy former teacher, who has dabbled in various forms of yearbooks, newspapers and radio broadcasting! One of the newspapers that I did freelance home economics topic feature articles for was "FarmQuest" an agri-newspaper based in Missouri for several years. Then some years later after moving back to Illinois, there was a 'good news' paper based in Pontiac for about 3-4 years, I believe. I wrote profile articles on some very interesting folks from that area. I also took 1-2 photos of the profile subjects. Blogging about teaching topics, genealogy and/or crafting projects is another variation of creative communication! I think that's why I love it so much!

My FQHCB #8 April 2026 Anything Home Goes theme DT projects

who: I'm Becca S, a 60+ gal who likes her mesh-mash style mixing products from different vendors as well as ages of selected products. I also have loved fine arts and practical arts since a young age! I started learning to sew at age 9! My first project was a pillow then a drawstring bag/purse that I still have! A simple elastic waistband gathered skirt was my first 4-H club county fair project that I wore for the style show and then took off to be left for the judges to evaluate. I think I got a blue ribbon but that was a very long time ago!!!

when: #8 starts April 2, 2026 and ends on April 30, 2026. 

why: The theme for FarmQuest Home is easy: 'anything home goes'. This can be any items/activities typically found inside or outside of any housing: dorm rooms, apartments, cottages, farmhouses, etc. Today's examples are 1 with a mix of interior/exterior showing a camera and a view of a house and the 2nd with interior items of a camera and makeup. You could have Father's Day cards with dad mowing, taking a nap, mowing the yard, etc. You could have Mother's Day cards showing grandma rocking her grandbaby or reading a book, etc. Those are a few ideas.

This challenge blog started in Fall 2025 after discontinuing one about kitchen and dining. The idea to broaden for whole house, inside or out, seemed like a better way to go. For interior housing topics, I'm featuring a row of books on a masculine birthday card and another showing 'saved' peacock feathers, old typewriter and old telephone. I decided not to do an exterior housing project this month.
