who: I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old crafting blogger, who loves heart shapes for their symbolism of love!! I also love flowers and butterflies! Hearts, flowers and butterflies spill over into home accessories and my jewelry and scarves. I used to have a lot of floral dresses, skirts and blouses but now it's mostly shirts/blouses. It's not mind-blowing that my very first challenge blog started focused on hearts.

My Heart's Quest Celebrations of Love #30 DT projects for June and July 2026

Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity!

why: This posting showcases my latest owner/design team inspiration projects for 1 of my 13 challenge blogs-- Heart's Quest Celebrations of Love challenges blog. HQCOLCB has 5 main themes coded as BEWAS: birthdays, engagements, weddings, anniversaries and sympathies. Those are 5 key celebrations of love that most folks express their devotion, affection and adoration towards friends and family. The optional event theme for June-July is 'masculine'...this can be Father's Day, a man's birthday, a boy's get well card, a male teen's graduation card, etc. 

when: #30 opens on June 3rd and will now stay open until July 20th with its new expanded session length!!! YES!! Most of my challenge blogs are switching to being open about 7 weeks instead of 4!! That's to help me and my husband enjoy a better retirement schedule, especially after getting most of my mom's estate settled and after several years of being her primary caregiver. It's time for us to transition and start a new chapter of our 30.5 year story.

1. left-side fold 5" x 7" white card base w/ envelope = Tonic Studios

2. yellow checked gingham print paper and blue-yellow-pink floral print paper (these 2 prints are reverse sides for each other in the paper pad) = Front Porch collection = Simple Stories [plus the 2 cut-out tags are from 1 of the sheets in the paper pad]

4. Fish Tank/blue mini stamp pad = Lawn Fawn (to ink the edges of the floral, gingham and tag papers) plus use for the 'birthday' stamp inking

5. navy blue dual-tip permanent marker = Art Skills (on the mat under the triangle cut, I used a ruler to repeat the X and applied the navy blue marker over the X lines in case the cut triangles didn't get closely aligned)

who: Hello! I'm Becca S, a 60+ year artisan crafter who lives in north central Illinois! My personal life and professional life have been eclectic  filled with glorious successes and some low valley moments such as surviving a massive blood clot (pulmonary embolism)! With hundreds of prayer warriors interceding, I survived the 5% chance given by the doctors! [I was 55 years old.] A couple of joyful highlight achievements were sewing my own wedding dress about 30 years & 3+ months ago (age 33+) and just before my 41st birthday, I graduated with a 4.0 GPA with my Master's in Education degree in Elementary Ed with Early Childhood emphasis!! Whoa!! Hu-rrah!

why: In crafting blog world/social media, there are a couple of challenge blogs that focus on sentiments and/or lots of text/large text featured. HQLQCB was started to offer a place for those creative projects that go beyond just using a couple of words like 'thank you' or 'get well' or 'congratulations'. HQLQCB wants attributable/credited quotes or sayings such as dictionary definitions, music lyrics, movie lines, poetry lines, Bible verses and/or other religious documents, textbooks, quotes from novels, obituaries, meal time blessings, etc.

I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old crafting blogger, who was reared by supportive parents and grandparents that encouraged me to try different fine arts and crafts, practical home arts plus different clubs and organizations as well as church youth group and other church ministries while growing up! Even sports were tried but not really my forte'! Softball and volleyball were two that I did fairly well however volleyball wasn't a school sport until several years after I graduated. Softball however came back into my life in my early 30s participating on my church's women's summer rec league team for 3 years.

My Heart's Quest Challenges #85 AWAHG theme + option of pink or blue hearts DT projects

 Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity!

why: this post showcases my newest owner/design team projects for Heart's Quest Challenge Blog's #85. The second project is for the main theme 'Anything With a Heart Goes' (red hearts) and then the first creation is for the optional/specified heart color(s) of pink &/or blue (mine is just 1 pink heart). 

Project #1 is a mix of pink, red, beige/taupe and metallics. The pink heart is glitter glue filling the laser heart-shape opening on letter "O" in LOVE. This is for the optional heart color of pink. 

Project #2  has three red hearts for the main theme "AWAHG".
