Who: I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old artsy-craftsy, mish-mesh mix it up creative thinker living with my husband of 30+ years and our rescued little dog Mister Bennett. We think Mr. B is either 15 or 16. The family thinks he was in his mom's 2nd or 3rd litter, yet she's only 1 or 2 years older according to them. So I think she was a puppy herself when she started becoming a mom. We've just recently celebrated his 6th 'gotcha' day.

If I need a quick card, I'll use several products from a company's collection since elements are coordinating. This Christmas card is one of these quick makes.

My Heart's Quest for Shaped Cards and Tags #3 (or #15) DT projects on 2 March 2026

Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity!

why: This is my personal post for 1 new shaped creation for Heart's Quest For Shaped Cards and Tags #3 for 2026 (or #15 since we started). HQFSCAT is anything goes on shaped cards and/or shaped tags with the only shape not allowed being a standard rectangle. Variations on rectangles are accepted such as rounded corners, a wider diagonal cut that changes the degrees to something less than 90*; scallop-topped; dog-ear topped; border punch used across the bottom 2 corners; etc. 

I only had time to create 1 project this time for HQFSCAT! Thankfully a couple of other team members did 2 projects this time plus we had Guest DTs to help us have lots of inspirational samples. My personal life and husband's have been crazy. I had a head cold last week for 5-6 days but then discovered some weird swelling in my lower right leg on Saturday afternoon. So hubby took me to a small hospital ER only 25 miles from us. Unfortunately, a radiology tech wasn't on call but would be on Sunday, so I had to go back to find out that I have a Baker's cyst on the back of my knee. Luckily it's not a clot but an aggravation until my body absorbs the leaking lubricating fluid from my knee into other parts of my leg/body. Another lucky thing was that the same ER doc was still working Sun morning so that was reassuring that he was familiar with my case. But that took away from my weekend time to craft and be on the computer. Hubby failed his treadmill stress test last Tuesday and has to undergo a heart catherization/angiogram procedure in the morn/Wed/March 4. He is to expect stenting but we don't know what to expect until the cardiology interventionist gets going. He's first on the schedule. This is a different hospital but is the largest in the region and part of the same hospital system. This interventionist took care of Joe 6.5 years ago so he's familiar with Joe's extensive cardiac history. He's a walking miracle!! Keep us in your thoughts and prayers please. Lots of risks for Joe but his regular cardiologist says he needs to do it to get blood flow back into a section of his heart.

The theme is the same every month: anything goes country Christmas which means exterior holiday decorations and the wintry outdoor animals, weather, snow-covered houses, etc.  For these similar cards, I have a snowy & starry night sky and Nativity stickers for outdoor Christmas cards. And I did a quick make of snowflakes and poinsettias for a non-traditional Christmas color palette of white, brown, gold and red.

how-to & vendor notes for #1 & #2: nighttime starry sky scenes

1. base is black paper(s) = from a 100 sheet multicolor paper pad = Hello Hobby by Walmart

2. white CS panels/scrap = Georgia Pacific

3. the nighttime starry sky print CS = from Apothecary paper pad 2023 by Fancy Pants Designs

4. red and green plaid print paper scraps = I think it is either Bo Bunny or Fancy Pants Designs; several years old; scrap strips have been floating around my craft table for most of 2025!!!

5. ivory, light gray and black enamel accents (dots, hearts and/or stars) = same pack/neutral tones = Freckled Fawn

6. silver gel highlighter was applied around the perimeter of the white CS but the gel was crumbly/dried out so instead of trying to salvage or throw it away, I applied blue glitter! 

7. Sapphire Blue super sheen glitter = Nuvo/Tonic Studio; used cotton-tip swabs to clean off as much glitter that didn't shake off into the trash can; still didn't get it all removed...or evenly applied either...sigh...

8. Nativity stickers = saved from solicited Christian organization mailer and finally used!!

1. AGCC theme elements: chickadee, holly, pine, stars, and front view of a home

3. red and green star stickers from a mixed size and color star stickers pack = maybe Hallmark?; have had in my stash for lots of years

5. black fine tip marker pen = Sharpie

6. chickadee with sentiment is a MAGNET = I discovered this unopened package while going through stuff at my mom's house. So last year the pack came to my house. This is the 2nd magnet I've used. 

7. glue dots are used behind the magnet so the card receiver can remove it if they wish to do so

8. red CS scrap = Crafter's Square

9. white glitter CS and black glitter CS panels = cut from full 12" square sheets from a mix color pack = Crafter's Square (4 sheets: white, gold, silver & black)

a. silver glitter CS (1 of 4 glitter color CS pack)

22. from Lawn Fawn = Narwhal/gray mini stamp pad; paper toweling strip was wadded and then used to dab ink on the margin of the red CS before the white chalk marker was used.

23. black fine point marker = Sharpie (used to highlight the embossed 'LOVE' in that faux wax seal; I used some paper towel to distress some off while ink was drying and then I used a scissor blade to scrape a bit more off)

AGCC theme code means anything goes country Christmas referring to rural outdoors wintry weather and/or nature and/or activities and/or exterior holiday decorations. Just think of outside a house or church...ice skating on a pond, building a snow fort, a chickadee resting on a snowy branch of a pine tree, etc.

1. Bo Bunny = patterned dark greens & holly paper; also die-cut ephemera of the focal/label and the large sprig of holly and berries

2. Pen + Gear = solid green cardstock cut to be 1-2" larger than the focal sentiment label ephemera piece (that took awhile to measure but worth the shaped/unique card base

3. The Paper Studio = red and white buffalo check cardstock strip

4. Freckled Fawn = two colors of enamel dots from 2 different packs; they cover up dark green stars on the focal piece

5. Recollections = gold glitter foam star stickers

6. Crafter's Square = red pearl gems (part of a pack)
