why: This post showcases 2 new design team inspiration samples of quotes for Heart's Quest Lovable Quotables Challenges Blog. HQLQCB's theme is 'anything goes quotes'. We want more than a simple short expression such as 'hello' or 'congrats' or 'best wishes', etc. My samples today have a prayer taken from a teacher's theme devotional book, songs and paraphrased Bible verse lighthouse stickers for a bookmark. 

when: HQLQCB #5 launches on June 5, 2026 and ends on July 20, 2026. 

what: Project #1: Art Journal Page #2 with prayer for mercy

how-to & vendor notes for #1: LOOK for the blue ink cursive written words; most are angled with the 'cross' of paint/wax applied on top in many layers.

1. sketchbook; medium weight sheets = Tree House Pad & Papers, Inc. 

2. red, blue, green & black = Paper Mate's Ink Joy gel pen set 

3. red, yellow, blue & green = Art Skills' Paint Sticks (set of 4; soft waxy; softer than a crayon); applied with a knife in different amounts with blue first and the most; red came second; yellow was third; a little bit of green was last; lots of scraping across and down plus bits added around the page; after the 4 colors of paint/wax were scraped then I used some scratch paper to rub away to expose the words I had written first.

4. teacher devotional book= BroadStreet Publishing Group

5. counter-clockwise for the words connected to God's mercy = grace, unwavering, available, persistent, not fickle and resolute!!!

36. each cording length was inked with 2 green tones and 2 blue tones to add/repeat more colors from the stickers/bookmark onto the cordings

37. the stickers have been removed from packaging and I've had for probably 20+ years = they might be from Standard Publishing (a Christian company doing lots of Sunday School and Vacation Bible School supplies); or could be another religious publishing company

why: This post is showcasing new design team inspiration projects for my challenge blog, Heart's Quest For Shaped Cards and Tags Challenges. Its theme is anything goes on shaped cards and/or shaped tags. Shaped cards include dimensional structural types and/or fancy folds. The only shape not allowed for either category is a basic rectangle HOWEVER altered versions like rounded corners, z/diagonal cut on a corner, dog-ear topped, scallop-topped, etc. are accepted.

1. thick white cardstock cut to folded dimensions about 4.25" square; then corner curves were traced using a small spool of washi tape; fussy cut; = Tonic Studios 110# white CS pack

2. Pumpkin Spice ink/mini stamp pad = Lawn Fawn

3. 'celebrate' and 'wishing you..' clear stamps = from a birthday expressions stamp set = Crafter's Square

4. puffy face stickers = from a mixed shapes/icons pack = American Greetings

who: I'm Becca S; a 60+ year old blogger with an artsy-craftsy merged style who also likes to mish-mesh old and newer products together from different companies. I've been sharing some of my childhood, teen, and a few college age experiences in fine arts and practical arts. Another interesting tidbit about me is living in 5 states so far! Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Texas and Missouri. My life began in Illinois and maybe it will finish in Illinois. Only God knows that. Joe and I have lived the past almost 23 of our married 30 years in central Illinois. Whew!!! I've had times in my life for city living but much more in rural small towns, a few farms and villages!

1. Are these birds kingfishers? or swallowtails? I know they aren't barn swallowtails because their coloring is very different. I've been dive-bombed too many times at the farm.

why: this posting showcases a new owner/design team inspiration project for HQFSCAT or Heart's Quest for Shaped Cards and Tags. I decided to just do 1 project this month. We've got four DT members besides me plus 2 Guest DTs that responded for this month so we've got lots of interesting shaped cards and shaped tags to enjoy! 

when: #2 in 2026 (or #14) runs from Feb 2-28 with the theme of anything goes on a shaped card or a shaped tag. The only shape exception for both cards and tags is a regular rectangle/4 straight corners. Variations are allowed like rounded corners, punched corners, odd angles like a Z-fold, etc.

1. kraft brown scallop-topped tag = from pack by Crafter's Square; the end/bottom edge shown on the right side was fussy cut to mimic the edge of the emboss cut-out image to create a unique SHAPED TAG; also lightly inked in Guava/Lawn Fawn

why: This posting showcases my design team efforts for HQFSCAT or Heart's Quest for Shaped Cards and Tags challenges blog. #1 in 2026 continues the anything goes on shaped card and/or shaped tag theme. Project #1 is a heart-shaped tag that I've inked, added an ink wood rose and three parts of the tie.  Project #2 is an arch top slimline card in gorgeous blues, white, light grays/silver and bits of purple tones for Happy New Year 2026!

why: This posting features new design team inspiration projects for FarmQuest Country Christmas Challenge Blog! The theme is always 'anything goes country Christmas'. By 'country' the theme means what is rural, outdoors, remote, exterior, weather/wintry, nature. No inside a home or building views or city scenes.  

when: #27 starts on December 7, 2025 and ends on January 5, 2026!!! 

what: Project #1: "Home is where the love is!" card

how-to & vendor notes for #1:

1. AGCC theme elements: chickadee, holly, pine, stars, and front view of a home

2. black star, black mini dots, ivory mini dots, and light gray medium dot = enamels from mixed neutral set /pack = Freckled Fawn

3. red and green star stickers from a mixed size and color star stickers pack = maybe Hallmark?; have had in my stash for lots of years

6. chickadee with sentiment is a MAGNET = I discovered this unopened package while going through stuff at my mom's house. So last year the pack came to my house. This is the 2nd magnet I've used.

22. from Lawn Fawn = Narwhal/gray mini stamp pad; paper toweling strip was wadded and then used to dab ink on the margin of the red CS before the white chalk marker was used.

23. black fine point marker = Sharpie (used to highlight the embossed 'LOVE' in that faux wax seal; I used some paper towel to distress some off while ink was drying and then I used a scissor blade to scrape a bit more off)

why: This posting showcases my new design team/owner projects for #12/December at HQFSCAT or Heart's Quest for Shaped Cards and Tags, a challenges blog for crafting bloggers. Anything Goes on a shaped card and/or shaped tag is the theme every month! For December, instead of holiday for the round card, I'm using some old stickers and old cardstock that's been in my stash for years! For a shaped tag project, I brought out a hearts within hearts wood laser cut and inked it with wintry colors and added some stamped + inked + glitter glued stars!!!

FarmQuest Challenge #78 design team Christmas Tree Farm theme projects

why: This post showcases two new design team/owner inspiration projects for #78 Christmas Tree Farm theme at FarmQuest Challenge Blog. For the card, I used some old stash from Bella Blvd chipboard stickers for the main scene elements. On the tag, I went with a recent purchase from Dollar Tree because the ornament tag on this package topper project had caught my eye for this theme. My brain cells were thinking I could use for this #78 theme!!
