who: Hello, I'm Becca S, the owner and DT member of Critter Crazy Challenges, a crafting challenge blog featuring critters/animals. I took over the ownership about 1.5 years ago. The design team is a worldwide mix of artisans! 

My husband and I are starting our 6th year (as of June 14) as pet parents to Mister Bennett, which we believe is a Chihuahua and miniature Schnauzer mix. Online this is referred to as Chi-zer. The previous owners' daughter has told us that he's a Dachshund and poodle mix but has no poodle characteristics and doesn't have Dachshund ears or muzzle/snout (or even size, height or tail). He fits the Chi-zer better; might have some terrier % in his DNA. Definitely an ugly mix that just makes him loveable!!!

The only rhinos I've seen have been at zoos! This one is a cutie and looks great with the color palette, striped paper and the color-dotted application on the wood laser cut 'friend'. 

why: This is my design team inspiration project for #113 for CCC.

why: This post focuses on my new design team (DT) project for Critter Crazy Challenges, a crafting blog. I took over the ownership and management of this blog about 16-17 months ago!! Time just vaporizes! I've not duplicated/twin animals yet but have used different butterflies and cats. Needless to say, my treasure diving into my stash supplies keeps revealing forgotten animal products! :) This time I'm using layered plastic/acrylic printed and embossed ocean creatures of jellyfish and sea horse plus coral and two nautilus shells!!

I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old crafting blogger, who was reared by supportive parents and grandparents that encouraged me to try different fine arts and crafts, practical home arts plus different clubs and organizations as well as church youth group and other church ministries while growing up! Purples and pinks have been my favorite colors since I was about 10 years old. 8 years ago we painted our current home in different tones of purple. The kitchen has the darkest shade. We thought we were going to have white cabinets but they would have cost us $1,000 more than choosing another color/stain. So I went with espresso then have a white sheet curtain at the window and stainless steel appliances to help lighten things. There is a light gray vinyl flooring, too.

My Critter Crazy Challenges #108 design team LION card on 1 March 2026

why: This posting showcases my newest design team/owner inspiration project for Critter Crazy Challenges, a crafting blog, that I assumed owner and administrator status about 13-14 months ago. This January completed my first year and we're just roaring along into my second! 

One just never knows how and where and what I see sparks my creative muse! For about a year I've not touched a set of children's animal masks except to give a tiger one to the little girl we were babysitting on weekday afternoons. I thought I would the use the masks for Critter Crazy before this, but apparently other animal images/products have also sparked my imagination. My March critter is a lion. 

The theme is always 'anything goes with a featured critter' or AGFC. 

when: Critter Crazy #108 starts March 1 and runs through until March 25, 2026.

how-to & vendor notes for #1:

1. yellow cardstock (CS) is not quite a full sheet; about 6.5" deep x 8" wide = Astrobrights/Neenah

2. lion mask = from a mixed animal children's mask set = sold by Dollar General Stores (I added the black marker accents on the ears plus the paper and ink triangles for eyes + whisker ink lines + stars.)

3. brown scrap CS = tucked into the eye openings = Colorbok

4. gold glitter stars = part of a mixed gold star design set of stickers = Recollections/Michaels Arts and Crafts

5. tall gold metallic 'HI' puffy lettering stickers = Thickers by American Crafts

6. tiny gold puffy lettering stickers from Flags and Frills package = American Crafts

7. black fine tip marker pen = Sharpie (outlined the mask perimeter and the eyes; used to stencil the triangles; also draw the black lines on the ears)

8. black extra fine tip marker pen = Sharpie (for the whiskers)

9. black stamp pad = Hero Arts (to ink the yellow CS perimeter)

why: This posting showcases my latest design team/owner inspiration 'critters' card for Critter Crazy Challenges (CCC). In the year since I've become owner, I've featured butterflies or moths several times. They are my favorite insect!! When I was a young girl, maybe about 8 years old, when a teacher of another class/age level, told me that butterflies were like fluttering flowers. That phrasing has always stuck in my thoughts. And since I also love flowers (check my wardrobe, scarves, jewelry), the analogy got hard-wired! The theme is anything goes with featured critter (AGFC= code).

why: The purpose of this posting is to showcase my newest owner/DT project for Critter Crazy Challenges #106. Every month the theme is anything goes with a featured critter. This time I'm using a toucan digital image that I printed and colored at least 2 years ago. It is original artwork made by an artisan blogger friend, Mary Smith's husband Mark.

1. toucan digital image = original artwork image/digital download by Mary Smith's husband, Mark Smith. Mary is a DT member of FarmQuest Country Christmas Challenge Blog.
