who: Hello, I'm Becca S, the owner and DT member of Critter Crazy Challenges, a crafting challenge blog featuring critters/animals. I took over the ownership about 1.5 years ago. The design team is a worldwide mix of artisans! 

My husband and I are starting our 6th year (as of June 14) as pet parents to Mister Bennett, which we believe is a Chihuahua and miniature Schnauzer mix. Online this is referred to as Chi-zer. The previous owners' daughter has told us that he's a Dachshund and poodle mix but has no poodle characteristics and doesn't have Dachshund ears or muzzle/snout (or even size, height or tail). He fits the Chi-zer better; might have some terrier % in his DNA. Definitely an ugly mix that just makes him loveable!!!

The only rhinos I've seen have been at zoos! This one is a cutie and looks great with the color palette, striped paper and the color-dotted application on the wood laser cut 'friend'. 

why: This is my design team inspiration project for #113 for CCC.

why: This posting showcases my newest design team inspiration projects for FarmQuest General Store challenge blog. The challenge theme is always 'anything farm and/or country goes' with country referring to rural or remote outdoors settings and related activities. 

For March, I decided to do a farmhouse garden or meadow vibe for project #2 with barnwood, plaid, bee, ladybugs and wildflowers. For project #1, I also kept to a garden setting with flowering trees, birds, flowers, bees, butterfly and dragonfly!

My Critter Crazy Challenges #108 design team LION card on 1 March 2026

why: This posting showcases my newest design team/owner inspiration project for Critter Crazy Challenges, a crafting blog, that I assumed owner and administrator status about 13-14 months ago. This January completed my first year and we're just roaring along into my second! 

One just never knows how and where and what I see sparks my creative muse! For about a year I've not touched a set of children's animal masks except to give a tiger one to the little girl we were babysitting on weekday afternoons. I thought I would the use the masks for Critter Crazy before this, but apparently other animal images/products have also sparked my imagination. My March critter is a lion. 

The theme is always 'anything goes with a featured critter' or AGFC.

why: This posting showcases my latest design team/owner inspiration 'critters' card for Critter Crazy Challenges (CCC). In the year since I've become owner, I've featured butterflies or moths several times. They are my favorite insect!! When I was a young girl, maybe about 8 years old, when a teacher of another class/age level, told me that butterflies were like fluttering flowers. That phrasing has always stuck in my thoughts. And since I also love flowers (check my wardrobe, scarves, jewelry), the analogy got hard-wired! The theme is anything goes with featured critter (AGFC= code).

Loving my CCC #103 agfc theme choice Giraffe DT project on 1 October 2025

why: This posting highlights my newest owner/DT inspiration project for Critter Crazy Challenges blog. I'm loving the mixed animal pop-up stickers that I bought at a local Dollar Tree store! YEP! This time I chose this cartoonish giraffe and placed him next to the maple (leaf) tree for fun. Fall season colors and plaids to add to the autumn flavor of this card.

why: CCC is short for Critter Crazy Challenges, a crafting blog, with its monthly theme of anything goes with featured critter. I took over the ownership and management tasks in February 2025. This dalmatian is my latest owner/DT contribution for the #102 challenge month. 

when: #102 starts September 1 and ends on Sept. 25, 2025 which allows the worldwide design team members with varying time zone differences have time to get ready for #103. 

what: Project #1 = Spotted Birthday

how-to & vendor notes for #1 = Dalmatian for featured critter

1. black cardstock base started as 6" square and trimmed to 5.5" square = Art Skills

2. red leather embossed specialty paper scrap = came from a scrap pack by Crafter's Square

3. light blue cardstock scraps cut into 2 different size clouds = Neenah

4. blue mini ink pad = Lawn Fawn

5. black ink pad = Hero Arts

6. "HB" old wood stamp = SU 2001

7. red crystal heart gem = from a pack = Crafter's Square

8. white paper scrap used behind the Dalmatian image = stash

9. gray retractable marker pen = Zebra Clickart (used to outline dog)

10. dalmatian image = upcycled, fussy cut = 2018 Dogs 16-month calendar; distributed by Dolgencorp, LLC (Dollar General stores); made in China

why: Anything Goes Country Christmas or AGCC is the monthly theme (offset time period) for FQCCCB or FarmQuest Country Christmas Challenges Blog. And September will be the end of our 2nd year in blogland! I mostly do cards and decided this time to do a gift tag. I took a Pebbles tag and added three layers under it to expand it and make it mine. There is a Christmas card that I chose not to share on the FQCCCB blog and have it here as an extra project.

why: Isn't this card photo very lovely???!!! It's my newest DT project for my newest challenge blog ownership! YES! In February, Kleido accepted my inquiry to become the new owner! This is a challenge I've participated in for many years and I didn't want to see it close. Yeah! for the design team members who stayed on and made the transition easy! Go Team! CCC is Critter Crazy Challenges! 

when: CCC #98 starts May 1, 2025 and lasts for 25 days with its AGFC theme (anything goes featuring critter)

what: Butterflies Go Round and Round Birthday card

notes:

1. base paper cut from 6" square using a dessert plate for my template (I do lots of my techniques with old simple methods!) = SU

2. butterfly print paper cut from a 6" square using a small kid's size bowl for my template = from a multi-design paper pad = Crafter's Square

3. the magenta/red-purple trellis print paper = SU

4. trellis paper was punched using a 2.25" round punch = EK Success

5. "HB" wood stamp = 2001 SU/Stampin' Up; went over it to make it bolder

6. black dual-tip marker for doodling = Art Skills

7. black ink/stamp pad for outer paper perimeters = Hero Arts

8. dark purple butterfly = Little Birdie Handmade Embellishments; Butterfly Gallery Sea Coral with 12 pieces [new to me; first one used]
