why: The purpose of the post is sharing my new DT/owner inspiration projects for HQFSCAT. That's Heart's Quest For Shaped Cards and Tags challenges blog. The theme is easy = anything goes on a shaped card or a shaped tag. And to not make it that easy, there is a shape that's not allowed which is a standard rectangle, four 90 degree corners for a tag or a card base. Variations are welcome, though. Think a diagonal cut on 1 side. Rounded corners. Scallop-topped. Dog-ear topped. So change at least 1 corner to vary a traditional rectangle shape in order to use it.

how-to notes for #2: this does fold/scored on that 'divider' vertical line!!!

21. I took a security print paper full sheet that came in a health insurance envelope and placed it on the printer/scanner and printed it on white cardstock! = upcycled; then traced the pattern onto the print; cut it out; did the lines, stenciling, etc. 

22. stencil for lower case letters = very old Tupperware; probably close to 35-40+ years old!!!!!!!!

23. black ink pen for bottom layer of lines and shapes for the take-out container and sentiment messages

My featured FQCB #68 hibernating animals theme DT card for 28 January 2025

why: This personal blog post focuses on my newest rural outdoors theme DT project for FarmQuest Challenge Blog. #68 is about hibernating animals. Animals that hibernate include skunks, turtles, frogs, squirrels, hedgehogs, groundhogs, bumblebees, snails, snakes, bears and a few more. I chose to generate an Ai image of hibernating animals in a cave...like a sleepover! :)

when: #68 starts January 28, 2025 and ends on February 27, 2025; starting last month/offset month instead of 15-16 days or so length.

what: Warm Hello from the Sleepover card

notes:

1. caramel cardstock base started as 6" square; cut down to fit manila envelope so approx. 5.5" x 6" = Art Skills

2. yellow and white print paper = SU

3. cave scene image = Ai-generated using Microsoft Designer

4. some extra lime green colored pencil added to help moss show better against all the gray and brown tones; stash item

5. ink outlining around image with Pea Green alcohol marker = Arteza

6. thick foam stickers (warmth, hello, leafy stems, leaf) from = Amber Autumn collection by Fancy Pants Designs

7. felt hedgehog accent = came in a mix of animal designs = Crafter's Square

8. brown with coppery glitter waffle-embossed specialty paper = from a scrap paper pack = Crafter's Square; was trimmed/sized a bit

-- interesting farm country facts in my life:

my parents farmed off and on through my life; both sets of grandparents and great-grandparents were farmers; some to a lesser amount just to be self-sufficient/feed their family but still did grain crops and/or livestock

-- my main childhood home was in a very small village of about 200-225 folks and when we moved there when I was 5 1/2 years old, it had 3 grape vines; an old chicken coop and 2 little pig/sow structures. My parents kept the grape vines; tore down the pig houses immediately and after a couple of years, finally tore down the chicken coop. There was also a garden patch that we used to the north of both of those. And a small patch in front of the chicken coop became a new spot for rhubarb plants.

when: #13 with AGCC theme (Anything Goes Country Christmas) started October 7th and ends on November 5, 2024

what: Let It Snow says the deer and his rabbit friend Christmas card =

notes:

1. sage/mint green cardstock panel = Neenah

2. navy blue with gold glitter specialty paper = stash scrap

3. decorative-edging scissors used on the glitter paper

4. gold glitter specialty paper = stash scrap; cut not quite round 

5. "Let it Snow" text and deer with rabbit center focal image = ephemera received free through signing up at Sande's Poema Card Making Community group in FB (thanks, Sande W!!!)

6. the 'Let it snow' before it was cut-out from the sheet with other wintery sentiments = used the navy blue colored pencil to outline a cloud shape and then filled it with color; then cut out and adhered

7. large white glitter foam snowflake sticker was cut in half and those halves were placed at opposite corners' edges = stash

8. navy blue and purple gem stickers = Art Skills
