Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity!

why: Wow! We've made it to introduce a 2nd challenge time period for FQHCB or the new FarmQuest Home Challenges Blog! The theme will always be 'anything HOME goes' topics. It can be anything typically found inside or outside of a house...even views of the exterior of a house. Think of paintings, mirrors, candles/lanterns, shelving, tiered trays, coffee tables, lamps, quilts/throws, curtains, porch/deck furniture, mailbox, birdhouse/feeders, doghouse, treehouse, lawnmower, etc.

what: Project #1: interior of home ---> woman's bedroom collage scene

how-to & vendor notes for #1: friendship card

1. Neenah = pink cardstock cut as round circle minus a 3" straight edge for display

2. Art Skills = bright pink copy paper traced saucer/dessert plate for size and shape (the base was enlarged by 1/2" all around and then the straight edge section was cut)

3. Fancy Pants Designs' Unique ephemera pack = sentiment strip, lady, peacock feather, frame with silhouette and vintage camera on tripod

4. Studio G by Hampton Arts bright pink gems pack = three different sizes used with 5 total used

5. The Paper Studio's Mint Berry paper pad (old) = red and pink floral paper scrap (to mimic wallpaper)

6. Stash = white doily edges

7. Simple Stories' Flea Market's "All The Things" cardstock = cut out the C for chaise piece from the sheet (NEW for me; first cuts)

8. Hero Arts = black ink stamp pad (used to ink edge all the papers, even the doily pieces)

9. Zebra Clickart = gray retractable marker pen to do the stitched lines in a varying distance going clockwise around starting above the chaise image

why: This is exciting and I hope these changes will result in lots of entries! FarmQuest HomeStyle Kitchen Challenges blog has had mostly low or no participation during the past 4-6 months. So I'm trying rebranding this as FarmQuest Home Challenges blog with a broader theme and the #1 challenge of 'anything home goes' theme revealed on Sept 2nd. Anything home-related, inside or outside goes topics. Whole house photos. Side views of homes. Front view like on my card below. Family activities in the home or yard like birthday parties, movie night, game night, Easter dinner, etc. Also anything contained within the home like a quilt sewn by your aunt, the cross-stitched pillowcases made by your mother-in-law, holiday decorations, your before and after photos of your living room, etc. Also porch/patio furniture, exterior holiday decorations, etc.

My featured FQCB #68 hibernating animals theme DT card for 28 January 2025

why: This personal blog post focuses on my newest rural outdoors theme DT project for FarmQuest Challenge Blog. #68 is about hibernating animals. Animals that hibernate include skunks, turtles, frogs, squirrels, hedgehogs, groundhogs, bumblebees, snails, snakes, bears and a few more. I chose to generate an Ai image of hibernating animals in a cave...like a sleepover! :)

when: #68 starts January 28, 2025 and ends on February 27, 2025; starting last month/offset month instead of 15-16 days or so length.

-- interesting farm country facts in my life:

my parents farmed off and on through my life; both sets of grandparents and great-grandparents were farmers; some to a lesser amount just to be self-sufficient/feed their family but still did grain crops and/or livestock

-- my main childhood home was in a very small village of about 200-225 folks and when we moved there when I was 5 1/2 years old, it had 3 grape vines; an old chicken coop and 2 little pig/sow structures. My parents kept the grape vines; tore down the pig houses immediately and after a couple of years, finally tore down the chicken coop. There was also a garden patch that we used to the north of both of those. And a small patch in front of the chicken coop became a new spot for rhubarb plants.

HQCOLCB Sneak Peek about EWA themes coming in 2024

 Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog!

Purpose: these wedding or anniversary cards shown are sneak peeks for what to expect for the "EWA" themes each month at the new HQCOLCB!!!!

When: Sneak Peek is being published on Thursday, November 23, 2023; an Introduction One Month Before post will be published on December 2, and the first competition will be released on January 2, 2024!!!

What: "EWA" is Engagements, Weddings, and Anniversaries; there will be an optional occasion theme of 'new pet' that you can also do for a celebration of love entry.

I've got 2 cards made with almost the same materials that could be used for weddings or anniversaries=

1. Stampin' Up =for floral print 

2. Neenah =ivory cardstock

3. graphic heart stamp = Raisin Boat (purchased 3 years ago; maybe longer)

4. the sentiment stamp = Hampton Arts? (purchased maybe prior to 2015; red rubber with wood 

5. frame stamp = ? maybe Studio G (purchased possibly prior to 2018)

6. black ink pad = Hero Arts

7. Arteza Everblend Art Markers = colors to enhance the graphic heart stamp

8. the red and orange ink pad, blue enamel dots and the little pink foam glitter heart stickers = stash items

Loving this HQCB Theme #26 Easter with heart love DT inspiration card

 Welcome! This personal blog showcases my love and country creativity projects done for HQCB, FQCB, FQGS, and some other challenge blogs. On this post I'm highlighting Heart's Quest Challenge Blog's Theme #26 inspiration project.

What: Theme #26 requires Easter holiday AND heart/love

When: March 14-27, 2023

Why: I'm owner of HQCB! :) HQCB has new themes published each month on the 14th and 28th.

Happy Heart (<3) Easter card=

How was this made:

1. harvest gold base cardstock is about 5" wide x 6.26" tall

2. peeling painted wood paper and the barn siding paper from set; also 'happy' die = Hot Off The Press

3. lettering, number, and < tile stickers = Freckled Fawn

4. grass washi tape= gifted from a sweet craft artisan blogger friend

5. orange with triangle print paper = Art Skills

6. wood lasered cut chicks = yellow-orange marker with gold glitter acrylic paint for the chick on the left; the chick on the right has a mixture of the yellow-orange marker and a bolder orange marker along with the gold glitter paint

7. some black inking on paper edges and some additional black outlining for the 2 vertical papers
