why: This post leans to my love for rural living. Joe and I currently live in a small 1,400 person town that has a few amenities like 2 gas stations, a bank, post office, 2 bars, a small grocery store, and more.

FarmQuest Grocery Game Challenges came from this rural living background and also that I spent some years teaching home economics/FACS with grades 7th-12th students. Culinary labs, food safety, best practices for labs and working with team-mates, doing the grocery shopping after school or on the weekends...Oh! Those were the days!

why: Isn't this card photo very lovely???!!! It's my newest DT project for my newest challenge blog ownership! YES! In February, Kleido accepted my inquiry to become the new owner! This is a challenge I've participated in for many years and I didn't want to see it close. Yeah! for the design team members who stayed on and made the transition easy! Go Team! purpose: This posting features my latest owner/DT project for FQCB or FarmQuest Challenge Blog. DT member Nana Connie suggested this topic. Some additional animals that eat grain are: deer, hedgehogs, raccoons, ducks, geese, chickens/roosters, etc.

when: #61 competition time period is September 28- October 13, 2024

what: #61= the animal I chose was squirrel; they do eat seeds/kernels of corn, nuts, acorn, etc. 

notes: could be an anniversary card to my husband or to a family member

1. green cardstock base panel = Pen + Gear 

2. forest animals paper (reverse side is woodgrain) = In the Forest pad from Craft Consortium (birds, owls, squirrels)

3. squirrel focal, leaf, and acorn are part of the autumn/harvest icons in a collage print 12" cardstock = Crafter's Square

4. green and white gingham paper panel = Hot Off The Press

5. the 'bless our nest' sticker = The Simple Life sticker book by Simple Stories

6. gems, rust watercolor marker, = stash

7. dark chocolate brown ink pad = Lawn Fawn

8. the forest animal print paper was stencil traced = stencil part of a very old multi-set by Pebbles, Inc.

8. sled round 'die-cut' is a purchased gift tag = ?; bought in a multiple design set several years ago; I did trim a 1/8" off outside perimeter to make it slightly smaller than the floral print circle
