Loving my HQCOLCB #8 DT projects for 2 August 2024

Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity Blog!

purpose: this posting showcases my love to share creativity to my family and friends for significant occasions in their lives. Heart's Quest Celebrations of Love Challenges started the year with the main monthly themes as "EWA"s and this month with #8, I'm expanding it to be referred to as "BEWAS" or Birthdays, Engagements, Weddings, Anniversaries (wedding) and/or Sympathies. These are key occasions/reasons to express love and affection with others. We will still have optional theme each month.

*hubby had surgery last week; I had computer problems for about 24 hours on the day after his surgery; and caregiving has taken a lot more of time with less crafting and computer time...my apologies...

what: Project #1= wedding package topper (first 2 photos are showing it scanned flat) for the monthly EWA theme*

This wedding package topper is designed for a rectangle shaped box. The orange floral print paper was folded in half and the ribbon secured inside across the top and bottom then adhered closed. That way the ribbon is sandwiched and doesn't slide which should make it easier to tie around the box.

1. base is ivory cardstock panel = Neenah; pink, orange, and red-orange watercolor markers were partially diluted and then iridescent glitter paint applied on top for the perimeter

3. cut-a-part journal card = I think it's old Webster Pages; ALTERED = outlined in the red-orange, 'live' filled in with orange, 'story' filled in with red-orange, and 'love' added with black marker

purpose: this posting showcases my commitment to Heart's Quest Celebrations of Love challenge blog that just started its first competition on January 2nd. It is super cool to already be at the midway point of the 3rd challenge!

what: Project #1 for EWA themes (w is for wedding) = gift tag set

1. cover journal card = Wedding Bells by Echo Park with silver metallic paint applied to the inside perimeter

2. quilt print cardstock panel cut from = Vintage Frosted Forest; a lime green colored pencil was used to fill in some of the squares on the quilt print surrounding the heart shape fussy cut element

3. mauve pink text print paper for heart shape = Stampin' Up

4. recycled/upcycled corrugated cardboard packaging; with striped coloring using colored pencils for the greens and gray marker; buttons glued using silver metallic paint to adhere and some stamping of a baby's breath looking plant stamp (stash items)

5. lots of thread looped in honey gold/beige button thread plus black and white threads; 2 clear gems = stash items

notes:

1. kelly green cardstock base 6" square plus yellow and orange scraps; Art Skills/Crafter's Closet

2. checked gingham = Fancy Pants Designs

4. 'let's celebrate stamp and tiny heart stamp = ? unknown; received in an unmarked bag

5. used the heart stamp to make the 4-leaf clovers; used a fine tip black marker pen to add the stems
