Best Wishes and Sweet Dreams with TFATU August 20 Midway Reminder DT card

Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog!!! I didn't have to do much stash questing for this card due to a sweet junk journaling group crafter who sent me a mid-size manila envelope with a lots of scrap goodies! There was a folded fairy coloring book page in what she sent!! I couldn't believe it!! So, I opted to limit the size to a 4.5" x 5"approx. for the focal.

WHAT: The Fairy and The Unicorn challenge blog's Midway Reminder

WHEN: competition started August 5th and ends on the 31st.

SHOW and TELL:

HQCB BONUS Color Heart in Dark Blue 2nd Nautical CAS Version Card

This is Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog!

This blog is to showcase cards I create for Heart's Quest and FarmQuest challenge blogs that I started earlier this year. Today's bonus card is to promote HQCB's Color Heart theme using dark/navy blue. Deadline is 12:30am CT/Chicago June 13, 2022.

*use a dark blue heart

(mine's not very obvious--look in the top 'opening' of the anchor)

AND

*use lots of dark blues in the rest of the project

With this bonus card that will also be linked to 2 CAS style challenges, I used dark blue in my stamped banners/flags, tracing the anchor stencil, and applying 2 different blue ink pads via sponges.

The kraft paper is blocking the scanner light of my printer. Diamond cut white glitter paper is the base. The featured panel is plain white cardstock. 3 white glitter dots were cut out additional white glitter cardstock. And then there are 3 light blue with white dot 'spots' hole-punched from a ribbon type decorative tape but these are hard to find in the photos, even the cropped closeup one. Overall dimension is 5" wide x 7" high.

This is the cropped focal portion of the card made last night so you can contrast. I used less background stamping, no glitter dots, no red, no colored pencil for the ribbon part of the stencil, and changed proportions a bit for Sunday night's card seen up above.

Besides the HQCB dark blue heart and lots of dark blue, the themes from 4 other challenge blogs are: CAS-dots, Seashore/inc. a stamp, World Ocean Day (June 8) with a stamp, and By the Sea.

I've got the 'water', faux boat/ship banner/flags and an anchor for the sea/ocean elements.

There are dots in some of the banners/flags.

Stamps used were the banners/flags one and the 'thinking of you' applied under the anchor traced stencil. Both of these are very old stamps that I've had for many years.

HQCB BONUS project 2 Inspired by Color Heart Using Dark Blue challenge

With this bonus card that will also be linked to 2 CAS style challenges, I used dark blue in my stamped banners/flags, tracing the anchor stencil, applying 2 different blue ink pads via sponges, applying dark blue colored pencil to the ribbon portion of the anchor stencil over the inking and then applying 3 dark blue glitter dots that were hole punched from decorative tape.

The featured panel is plain white cardstock. 3 white glitter dots were cut out additional white glitter cardstock. I've got the 'water', faux bubbles, faux boat/ship banner/flags and an anchor for the sea/ocean elements. A bit of red ink applied too for highlighting the banners/flags.

There are dots in some of the banners/flags, the spots/dots, and the 3 light blue spots have at least 1 teeny white dot in them!

Stamps used were the banners/flags one and the 'thinking of you' applied over the anchor traced stencil. Both of these are very old stamps that I've had for many years.
