notes:

1. beige cardstock base = Crafter's Closet

2. creamy ivory cardstock used for Google Doc sentiment = Neenah

3. triangle quilt-look print journaling card (ends trimmed) = Prima Marketing

4. stitch marks added to the journaling card and sentiment

5. three threads were coiled and tucked behind the sentiment panel = stash; also pink glitter foam heart stickers

Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog!

Purpose: this posting is to promote my new challenge blog called Heart's Quest Celebrations of Love. 

When: Jan 2-31, 2024; January 2, 2024 is the debut of the very first competition; a sneak peek was published on 11/23/2023 and a preview introduction was 12/2/2023;

What: Project #1= "On Your Special Day" card...can be used for wedding, anniversary, engagement party, etc. 

Notes:

Loving this HQCB #33 Best Friends Day PLUS heart love theme AND a DT CALL

 Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog! This posting is an exciting opportunity to encourage our besties. I got to see my childhood bestie this weekend so this will be a fun surprise to mail to her this week! Heart's Quest Challenge Blog has this wonderful creative chance to communicate with snail mail or scrapbook!

WHAT: HQCB #33 theme is Best Friends Day PLUS heart/love included (I've got hearts that are inked/stenciled)

WHEN: #33 for June 28-July 13, 2023

SHOW and TELL: friendship card for BFF

1. Scattered Hearts stencil from Simple Stories; navy blue Memento ink pad

2. Plus Signs stencil from Simple Stories; dark purple Memento ink pad

3. lowercase alphabet stencil from Tupperware (about 40 years old!!!); traced with pencil and then had 4 markers alternating for color

4. white and black thread was coiled and tucked under the floral panel

5. tiger lily floral panel is recycled/upcycled panel from a long rectangle tissues box!!!! YES!!!

6. yellow cardstock base is 6" square

7. purple paper and a bit of gray barn siding are bases to block out the computer scanner light

HQCB BONUS Color Heart in Dark Blue 2nd Nautical CAS Version Card

This is Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog!

This blog is to showcase cards I create for Heart's Quest and FarmQuest challenge blogs that I started earlier this year. Today's bonus card is to promote HQCB's Color Heart theme using dark/navy blue. Deadline is 12:30am CT/Chicago June 13, 2022.

*use a dark blue heart

(mine's not very obvious--look in the top 'opening' of the anchor)

AND

*use lots of dark blues in the rest of the project

With this bonus card that will also be linked to 2 CAS style challenges, I used dark blue in my stamped banners/flags, tracing the anchor stencil, and applying 2 different blue ink pads via sponges. 

The kraft paper is blocking the scanner light of my printer. Diamond cut white glitter paper is the base. The featured panel is plain white cardstock. 3 white glitter dots were cut out additional white glitter cardstock. And then there are 3 light blue with white dot 'spots' hole-punched from a ribbon type decorative tape but these are hard to find in the photos, even the cropped closeup one. Overall dimension is 5" wide x 7" high. 

This is the cropped focal portion of the card made last night so you can contrast. I used less background stamping, no glitter dots, no red, no colored pencil for the ribbon part of the stencil, and changed proportions a bit for Sunday night's card seen up above.

Besides the HQCB dark blue heart and lots of dark blue, the themes from 4 other challenge blogs are: CAS-dots, Seashore/inc. a stamp, World Ocean Day (June 8) with a stamp, and By the Sea.

I've got the 'water', faux boat/ship banner/flags and an anchor for the sea/ocean elements. 

There are dots in some of the banners/flags.

Stamps used were the banners/flags one and the 'thinking of you' applied under the anchor traced stencil. Both of these are very old stamps that I've had for many years.

HQCB BONUS project 2 Inspired by Color Heart Using Dark Blue challenge

This is Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog!
