3. outlining and doodled hearts were added around the 'memories' sticker

4. pear green Memento ink pad was applied to the 'love' words on the text print along with some neon yellow-green glitter paint pen to highlight the words for required element for HQCB

5. the neon yellow-green glitter paint pen was also added to the wings of 4 butterflies on the posy cut shape paper

6. the pear green Memento ink pad was also applied to all papers outer edges

7. white card base is top-folded; approx. A2 size;

EDITED late on September 26: about 5.5 hours ago I posted a creative dare to see who would make a quick craft with the Heart's Quest theme and get it blogged or IG'ed before the deadline. OH, yes I did!!!

I did a 15 minute scrappy collage style bookmark with items located on my craft table. Here's what I came up with:

Right after I posted this to the HQ and FQ challenge blog fans group in FB, on my profile, and to 1 craft group, I needed to return to my mom's with this in my purse. She was surprised that I had it assembled in 15 minutes.

*some cocoa brown inked edges

*sticker butterfly and 2 short sections of washi tapes

*3 items to fussy cut from a collage print cardstock sheet

*little heart shape sketched in blue and yellow ink pens

This posting is in memory of my father who died on Christmas day 2008. Such a Renaissance man! U.S. Naval Reserves for 6 years. Associates Degree in Theology. Farmer (both crops and cattle). Truck driver. Farm equipment sales. owner/Editor/publisher of an agricultural newspaper for 6 years. Most of these overlapped and were repeated through his almost 72 years. Bi-vocational pastor. Husband. Father. Grandfather to my nieces and nephews. Oh! also small plane pilot! He even built his own little coupe plane that I flew in! Too many memories. Lots of family traditions.

This post focuses on my love for incorporating hearts/love into my creative projects! It's the premise for Heart's Quest challenge blog that crafters go on quests in their stashes and digital files for ways to show love and express heartfelt wishes. 

WHAT'S the theme at HQCB? Theme #30 is birthday occasion (image or sentiment) with at least 1 inclusion of heart shape or the word 'heart' or 'love'. HQCB also accepts other formats than cards, so layouts spreads or pages or even a birthday gift tag could be created.

WHEN: May 14-27, 2023

Today's showcase is for some heart/love for Mother Goose Day, May 1st!

What: Heart's Quest challenge blog is collaborating with Double Trouble challenge blog using inspiration from Mother Goose or element from a nursery rhyme plus HQCB's signature heart/love inclusion. 

Theme: #29 of HQCB

My project: I chose "My Black Hen" nursery rhyme. 

There are 3 rhyming sets: (1) hickety, pickety; (2) hen, men; and (3) day, lay.

Nursery rhyme element(s): black hen image on the die-cut label (actually was red until it encountered my black marking pen!); and the 1st/main verse of the "My Black Hen"

Heart/love element(s): 1 large navy blue heart shape behind the rhyme and die-cut

SHOW:

Some notes:

1. red, white, and blue cardstocks = stash items; different vendors; also blue gems and blue ink pad

2. "hello" in black foil dazzle/sticker = Hot Off The Press through Paper Wishes website

3. hen label die-cut; Echo Park

4. "Easter" egg stickers were gifted to me as extras from a junk journaling swap partner; I used a permanent black marker to transform them to go along as an embellishment for the eggs laid by the black hen in the rhyme

5. rhyme was found at nurseryrhymesmg.com [Suzanne of Double Trouble came across a list of 111 laptime songs and rhymes that is a combination of Mother Goose and other childhood fingerplays and action songs and the link is included at HQCB and Double Trouble.]

What: Theme #28 requires 2 parts: Graduation and heart or love (I've got scroll, cap and tassel, congratulations, and then a gold heart sticker and the word 'heartfelt' in the handwritten extra sentiment)

When: April 14-27, 2023

Why: I'm owner of HQCB and serve as 1 of the design team members

Notes: my nephew's school colors are blue and gold yet his 2 favorites are orange and green, so I've tried to get all 4 included and tried to keep it neutral -masculine in the appeal

1. Recollections/Michaels Arts and Crafts = yellow and gold herringbone print cardstock and the muted dark blue cardstock

2. Fancy Pants Designs = reddish-orange with blue and yellow floral print cardstock

3. Thickers/American Crafts = 3 die-cuts on the inside and 1 on the front (yay)

4. Hot Off The Press = barn siding print paper

Heart's Quest Challenge Blog Theme #27= Mother's Day occasion with heart/love

Different countries celebrate Mother's Day at different times so we want every crafter worldwide to get involved in joining us for celebrate women in your life that have the role of mom, grandma, memaw, mimi, nana, momma, etc. 

Heart's Quest #27 has 2 parts of its theme for requirements:

*Mother's Day occasion (have at least 1 image or a sentiment that alludes to the role of motherhood...)

AND

*have at least 1 usage of heart shape OR the word "heart" or the word "love; you can have more than 1, of course; and for the words, it can be a form or language equivalent such as lovely, heartwarming, heartfelt, beloved, etc.

March 28-April 13, 2023 with start and end times at 12:30am CST/Chicago.
