It's been an amazing journey so far. I have a heart's desire to see the participation and followers' list grow more. Creative thinking and processes-wise, I'm thrilled with how this cardstock set from a Bible Journaling Binder kit purchased several years ago looks new, fresh, and contemporary used for Autumn season appreciation cards!!

EDITED late on September 26: about 5.5 hours ago I posted a creative dare to see who would make a quick craft with the Heart's Quest theme and get it blogged or IG'ed before the deadline. OH, yes I did!!!

I did a 15 minute scrappy collage style bookmark with items located on my craft table. Here's what I came up with:

Right after I posted this to the HQ and FQ challenge blog fans group in FB, on my profile, and to 1 craft group, I needed to return to my mom's with this in my purse. She was surprised that I had it assembled in 15 minutes.

*sticker butterfly and 2 short sections of washi tapes

*3 items to fussy cut from a collage print cardstock sheet

*little heart shape sketched in blue and yellow ink pens

This posting is in memory of my father who died on Christmas day 2008. Such a Renaissance man! U.S. Naval Reserves for 6 years. Associates Degree in Theology. Farmer (both crops and cattle). Truck driver. Farm equipment sales. owner/Editor/publisher of an agricultural newspaper for 6 years. Most of these overlapped and were repeated through his almost 72 years. Bi-vocational pastor. Husband. Father. Grandfather to my nieces and nephews. Oh! also small plane pilot! He even built his own little coupe plane that I flew in! Too many memories. Lots of family traditions.

Today's showcase is for some heart/love for Mother Goose Day, May 1st!

What: Heart's Quest challenge blog is collaborating with Double Trouble challenge blog using inspiration from Mother Goose or element from a nursery rhyme plus HQCB's signature heart/love inclusion. 

Theme: #29 of HQCB

My project: I chose "My Black Hen" nursery rhyme. 

There are 3 rhyming sets: (1) hickety, pickety; (2) hen, men; and (3) day, lay.

Nursery rhyme element(s): black hen image on the die-cut label (actually was red until it encountered my black marking pen!); and the 1st/main verse of the "My Black Hen"

Heart/love element(s): 1 large navy blue heart shape behind the rhyme and die-cut

4. "Easter" egg stickers were gifted to me as extras from a junk journaling swap partner; I used a permanent black marker to transform them to go along as an embellishment for the eggs laid by the black hen in the rhyme

Different countries celebrate Mother's Day at different times so we want every crafter worldwide to get involved in joining us for celebrate women in your life that have the role of mom, grandma, memaw, mimi, nana, momma, etc. 

Heart's Quest #27 has 2 parts of its theme for requirements:

Loving HQCB Theme #24 Reminder St. Patrick's Day ATC

 Hello! Heartfelt Greetings! On this personal paper-crafting blog I'm focusing on a cute little faux leprechaun (aka hedgehog) ATC for my Heart's Quest Theme #24 reminder project! 

**Details: Heart's Quest Challenge Blog's Theme #24 requires 2 parts: (1) heart/love element using at least 1 heart shape, the word 'heart' or a variation like 'heartwarming', or the word 'love' or a variation like 'beloved' AND (2) at least 1 element for St. Patrick's Day occasion.

Easy. Right?!!?!

DT members Diane and Willa Jean made some darling sweet St. Patrick's Day card for the launch post on February 14th. I've got this cute little ATC for reminder inspiration:

[Theme #24 requirements: heart-shaped clover leaves, 'love' handwritten, AND clover/shamrock, green and orange/peachy colors of Ireland's flag]

Artist Trading Cards are sized at 2.5" x 3.5" so I tried to pack a punch full of adorableness into the itty bitty real estate!!! 

The felt shamrock was actually 4-leaf. I was able to cut 1 leaf away and with the hedgehog on top, the 4th leaf is not missed. The shamrock was part of a garland string of them. I just had to pull and separate where they had glued the shamrock leaf outline cut edges and then re-glue before adhering to the ATC. [Dollar Tree; also hedgehog was part of 4 different animal felt shapes package]

The green and white checked gingham cardstock is from Simple Stories. The peach (bright neon deep orange) cardstock is by Neenah. Black marker was used to outline the gingham paper and then a detail tip black pen was used to write 'love' in the upper right corner. 

Simple yet full of whimsy and charm!

Loving HQCB Theme #24 heart/love AND St. Patrick's Day occasion DT inspiration project

 Heartfelt Greetings to my personal paper-crafting blog posting about my DT inspiration card for Heart's Quest Theme #24!!

Theme #24 requires 2 parts:

*use at least 1 image/element related to St. Patrick's Day occasion

Competition runs from February 14 to February 27, 2023.

I decided to not use clipart, digital, or stamped image for a focal. I created my own washi tape heart with the wood lasered phrase "kiss me"!!! This lasered die-cut has 3 layers on it: red marker, orange glitter paint pen, and then topped with gold glitter acrylic paint.

For St. Patty's elements, I have lots of greens and oranges (looks peach), clovers, rainbows, and the "kiss me" (part of the phrase--Kiss me. I'm Irish.) For hearts/love, I have the kraft paper heart cut-out mostly covered with 3 washi tapes in a repeating format=

This is a slimline size = 8.5" wide and 3.5" deep.

Loving HQCB Theme #21 heart/love PLUS New Year's Day or Birthday

Welcome to Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country blog that features my design team inspiration projects for 2 of my challenge blogs. (I own a 3rd one that I will start sharing here as well on January 7th.)

This post is highlighting Heart's Quest Challenge Blog's Theme #21.

Theme #21 requirements:

a. use a heart shape or word 'heart' or  word 'love' (you can use more than 1 of these or any combination as well)

AND

b. occasion/celebration = New Year's Day or Birthday

Some design notes: white left-side folded notecard with matching envelope are from The Paper Studio; as is the gray and white buffalo plaid cardstock; the small black checked gingham paper is from Hot Off The Press via Paper Wishes website; the blue tonal checked/plaid cardstock is from Fancy Pants Designs' Lake Life paper pad; the painting image is from a 2020 pocket size calendar and so are "January" and "New Year's Day"; "happy" stamp is from Sum More Fun; the dark gray text "Sunday" is Becky Higgins' Project Life ephemera; and silver glitter disc and heart foam sticker are stash items.

My True Love Arrows mini slimline card=

I wanted to make a quick and easy card featuring the poppy print cardstock from Mint Berry paper pad by The Paper Studio. It's my goal to bash for 100 pattern paper challenge FB group for 2022. I've got both heart shapes and the word 'love'/true love phrase used on this. The 'true love' stamp used twice with metallic gold stamp pad ink was a NBUS. It's becoming a fast favorite. I liked adding the crossed staples to replicate the crossed arrows plus it reduced the amount of adhesive needed between the top green layer and the red. Win-Win for me. Another win was being quick to make! :)
