Loving My HQCOLCB design team #10 projects for 2 October 2024

Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity!

purpose: I started Heart's Quest Celebrations of Love Challenges at the start of 2024 as a spin-off from Heart's Quest. HQCB is struggling but HQCOLCB is doing well, which is a very good thing. The main themes are coded as 'BEWAS' which is short for birthdays, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, and sympathies. The optional themes for October are Thanksgiving/thank you.

when: #10 starts October 2nd and ends October 31st

what: Project #1 = Colorful Birthday card

notes for #1 = Birthday

1. base print paper = SU

2. wood die-cut owl came in the ombre color tones = Crafter's Square (3 color ways with 2 each for $1.25 plus tax) 

3. wood die-cut "HB" came in brown wood tone, so a bright pink marker was applied first and then a red glitter paint pen created the dark red-purple look = Crafter's Square (3 plain brown wood tone for $1.25 plus tax)

4. stencil = Pink & Main

5. colored pencils, variety = stash

6. black permanent marker for outlining = stash

**NOTE: sister/complementary challenge blog FarmQuest Grocery Game Challenges blog's #2 competition is open from June 28-July 13, 2024. 

This lemon fruit card doesn't qualify because fresh lemons/fruit produce is in odd aisle #1 and competition #2 is about even # aisles' contents. 

Even if I had an image of frozen lemonade concentrate, frozen foods are in aisle #9 and that's an odd aisle.

Featuring FQ HomeStyle Kitchen #4 AFG theme starting 2 April 2024

purpose: this posting focuses on my challenge blog started back in January--FarmQuest HomeStyle Kitchen challenge blog that has a monthly anything food goes theme. That theme extends to anything related to preparing food, serving food, cleaning up, etc. So think kitchen, pantry, and produce market/grocery store. 

when: #4 competition starts April 2 and ends April 30, 2024

what: Project #1= Colander on the kitchen table

notes:

A. all the die-cuts are from Simple Stories (2 different card kits)

B. the 2 tones of gray cardstock = Neenah

C. the kraft brown/cardboard look is recycled/upcycled packaging from fun size candy bar insert!!!! It had foldable sides that I removed and then used scissor blades to shave off the cuts to distress the edges

D. the choice of die-cuts was for it to look like a table or countertop and wall background; ----> gather + together = 

E. song inspiration of an old church hymn called "We Gather Together"

F. black ink edging on gray cardstocks = Hero Arts ink pad

HQCOLCB #2 EWA Themes plus option theme Valentines DT work starts 2 Feb 2024

When: #2 starts February 2, 2024 and will end on February 29, the last day of the month

What: HQCOLCB always has 3 monthly theme choices: Engagements, Weddings, and Anniversaries; the optional celebration theme this month is Valentine's Day

#1= this DT project is a wedding card=

Notes:

1. purple cardstock base is 4" x 6" = Art Skills

2. burgundy/red-purple patterned paper= Stampin' Up

3. iridescent gems, silver star embossed decorative tape = stash 

4. wedding cake stencil along with the 'happy day' and star were part of the same stencil sheet = Crafter's Square
