who: Hello!! I'm Becca S and this is 1 of 2 personal crafting blogs which I divide my extensive crafting challenge blog design team projects between! I own 13 challenge blogs and am a design team member only for 3 others owned by friends Marlene and Deanne. 

why: HQCOLCB is 1 of 13 owned crafting challenge blogs. The premise is having themes that reflect the occasions we love to celebrate that honor those we love. I've coded the 5 main themes as BEWAS which are birthdays, engagements, weddings, anniversaries and sympathies. Then each challenge has an optional event or topic theme. For #31 the option is travel/vacation.

why: Before July ends, I wanted to get a 'just for fun' non-design team commitment creative project made. Well, it came down to creating the card on July 30 and then staying up into the wee midnight hours of July 31 to do the blogging! :)

when: card's blog post was started on July 30 and finished on July 31, 2026. 

what: Project #1: Table for Two is an Ai-generated photo

how-to & vendor notes for #1:

1. pastel green cardstock sheet folded in half across the middle & divided in half; top side fold; 4.25" wide x 5.5" deep = Colorbok

2. the two tones of orange papers = scrap stash box; been in there for years; measured and cut for vertical strip; stencil-shape traced and fussy cut for the image backdrop

3. white thread (was ink tie-dyed) = Coats

4. green and orange washable markers = stash (for tie-dye on the thread)

5. lime green (Pea Green) alcohol marker = Arteza (for tie-dye on the thread)

6. gold puffy lettering stickers = Flags and Frills/American Crafts

7. image was Ai-generated by me sometime in 2025; to the right of the table runner there is a small pitcher with orange juice and an empty glass; there are 2 place settings and some silverware showing; I used Microsoft Designer.

Scrapbook Layout #6 in 2026 with 1 Day Road Trip to Visit 2 Lakes

why: I needed to scrapbook! I've got other day trips and a pre-birthday lunch with my two childhood friends that are waiting to be scrapped for my 2026 binder. This is for fun and is not related to any of my owned challenge blogs or the 3 DTs I'm on. 

when: this road trip was on Saturday June 13, 2026 and was scrapbooked + blogged on July 30, 2026.

what: Project #1: background base for the layout is white cardstock; hence the dash lines to give you sense of larger boundary...I should have inked the outer edge to give a tiny defining edge......

1A. Freshly Made Sketches #747; see image; I thought the circles in the sketch would work well to write the descriptions for each photo. In the sentiment area on the sketch, I used that to locate my large photo and use some white waxy chalk/paint for some waves along with some written documentation.

My BONUS feature project #1B for new FQHCB on 4 Sept 2025

why: At the end of August, I ended one of my challenge blogs, FQHSKCB, and then started over with a new name, new blog address and new theme for FarmQuest Home Challenges Blog or FQHCB. This time the theme is broad: anything home goes! YES! Interior or exterior. Any room. Any item/activity typically found in or out of your house. Whole house pics or Just the front or back, etc. 

when: this #1B post will be shared on September 4, 2025 with the main launch of the first challenge having started on Sept 2nd. (trying to generate attention for this new blog by having some extra posts)

what: Project for #1B (2nd bonus post for new blog) = digital scrapbook layout on my new craft studio; [yesterday #1A was a digital scrapbook layout about the new boards on our back deck that my husband did on Sept 1-2.]

how-to notes:

1. using Google Slides Portfolio template and 1 of the layout suggestions with some changes: added light gray background color, changed the font and colors for the titles; inserted the different arrow shapes and changed their colors to get more red into the layout; added the dotted borders around the text boxes

2. Shed was bought in early June; interior wasn't finished; husband offered to do the work!!! Bless his heart! I'm working backwards on these layouts. 

3. During the last week of August, the reclaimed pantry rack from my mom's house was added to the inside of one of the doors (husband added a layer of styrofoam, painted white and even used white caulking to go around the edges of the foam that helps with more insulation)! 

4. On the left side photo behind my little helper, this metal cart used to be mine back in the 1980s and then my mom wanted to use it for their microwave and then when they moved to IL, she used it for a TV cart. So now after all these years, I decided to reclaim it. It has wheels so I can move it around and even extend a side up to make a table for either my little helper or I to use!

5. On the right side photo of the layout, the 5.5 foot wide dresser had been left unclaimed by nieces and nephews so last week, Joe measured it to make sure it would fit on the west end of the shed. It does! It did! And bless his heart, he moved it for me and then one of his buddies helped him get it off our truck and into the shed! The painted cow on a blue splatterware plate was another recovered treasure from the farmhouse! The shelf unit started out a few weeks earlier on the east end but got switched to the west end. In late July, its back panels were painted white. They had been neon lime green!!! 

6. Those are some highlights. Dresser drawers are empty but will soon be full. Oh! My die-cutting devices will be used on the dresser top! I've not had enough room in our small house to have them out for easy access and use, so this will be wonderful to start using again within the early weeks of September. Also many file drawers are still empty and most are only half full.

My BONUS feature inspiration project for FQHCB #1A on 3 September 2025

why: This is a first of a few bonus inspiration posts for the new/rebranded FQHCB or FarmQuest Home Challenges Blog. The first challenge runs September 2-30, 2025. The theme will always be 'anything home goes'. That's anything inside or outside of a house. Paper, digital and/or hybrid projects: cards, ATCs, bookmarks/tags, home decor items, journals, TNs, scrapbook layouts.

how-to notes for #1:

*hubby did all the work! He kept saying I should help but construction (and mechanics) are his thing not mine! He did 3/4 of the boards about 19 out of 26 throughout several work sessions on Monday/Labor Day. Then he finished by noon on Tuesday September 2nd. 

*there are future plans to stain those boards

*Google Slides' portfolio was selected for the digital format. I chose 1 of the layout pages/slides in the portfolio template and kept 2 of the 4 photo/images boxes, deleted the top 2 areas where I placed the text, border and cube shape. I added a soft blue for the background color. 

*Difficulty scale: 2 out of 10 (1 being super easy and 10 being super complicated/complex)

Color Me Beautiful in Orange and Purple Showcasing Heart's Quest Color Heart #9 Launch Inspiration Project
