purpose: this posting features my latest contribution commitment to FarmQuest challenge blog that I started over 2 years ago! YES! FQCB is starting its third year in blogland!!! 

when: #50 starts April 14 and ends April 27, 2024

what: PROJECT #1: baby farm animal choice is puppy

notes:

1. background paper panel, leafy bottom border strip, 'faux' sun circle, sentiment tag/label, daffodil and little chipboard heart are all from Simple Stories card kits (at least 2 different ones); I'm down to odds and ends from 4 different ones bought about 2 years+ ago; I generally don't follow all the layout suggestions since I like to mix my stash items in to create more unique looks

2. black thread was looped around 4 times and tied behind to create a leash/collar for the puppy; instead of a dog tag, I used the little heart accent!!!

3. base is white cardstock with distressed edges (also from Simple Stories card kits)

4. foam and felt pieced puppy with googly eyes = from a Valentine's craft activity kit bought at DG on clearance from $3 marked down to 90 cents!!!! The kits makes several of 4 different animals (pup, hedgehog, dinosaur, and panda bear).

What: Jolly Poinsettia Christmas card

above: front panel; poinsettia die-cut and a red glitter foam heart sticker; die-cuts had a "Goldfish Orange" marker applied over them to reduce the amount of white; center panel was only gray with little white flowers with me very carefully coloring about 60% of theme; left and right panels are the same cardstock however only the skinny left strip's dots were colored with 3 basic colors

Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog! I decided to do something non-seasonal for the anything goes fantasy theme challenge at TFATU. I chose to use a Cupid laser cut wood stick-on that I enhanced with neon-yellow and gold glitter paint pens. My first thoughts were to use pink, red or purple but since the floral photo collage had so many yellows and yellow-oranges, I went with a vivid yellow.

Sharing my OUAT design team inspiration card for May 2023 based on children's book ONE LOVE

 Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity!!

This posting is for my love for mixing teaching and creativity through OUAT.

What: crafting friend, Deanne, started Once Upon A Time challenge blog last August with monthly prompts based on children's books

What is the May 2023 choice pick? Deanne selected Bob Marley's song-based "One Love". 

When: starts May 1, 2023

5. stash items for the remaining red glitter heart shape stickers, white cardstock (5" square) and bright green cardstock (6" square)

The colors of white and green became my main two and then the washi tape with the little color dots is my nod to all the other bright colors on the cover. Then the jumbo font size of "One Love" became my next inspiration to interpret. At first I thought I'd just use a #1 but then I thought of my sister's upcoming late May birthday and decided to make it her #60. I had the Thickers birthday to use and I liked that it was a large font. And the wood with gold "Love" was in my Valentines stash box waiting for me! Two red glitter heart shape stickers, some inking, a lime green and white washi tape are more stash items to complete my card.

Featuring FQCB #26 theme of bandanas

 Howdy! Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country blog! 

What: this is one of 2 personal paper-crafting blogs and this posting features my newest DT make for FarmQuest

Why: Theme #26 is the classic and iconic western wear (farming/ranching) bandana; there are several variations with most of them having a paisley type design print.

When: April 14-27, 2023

Happy Birthday Bandana card=

Notes:

1. black cardstock 6" square; caramel cardstock 5" square; both stash

2. bandana print clip art image (free from Clipart Library website) printed on white cardstock, cut to 4.5" square; from stash

3. die-cut sunflower = stash

4. torn strips of barn siding paper = Hot Off The Press/Paper Wishes website; set is a newer stash item

5. brown paper for tag is a recycled pharmacy bag from Wal-Mart, punched

6. tag punch and the Mementos ink pads (cantaloupe and nutmeg) were gifted to me about a month ago

7. "HB" stamp is an old one from Stampin' Up

I love it when I can mash-up old stash items with newer items to create a pretty card!!!

Featuring FQCB Theme #15 Fishy topics card for design inspiration

 Howdy! On this personal blog I'm featuring the new theme for FarmQuest Challenge Blog. It's 1 of 2 that I started earlier this year. Theme #15 requires 1 of these 3 options:

*fish

*fishing equipment (items like rod-n-reel, lures, creels, tackle boxes)

*boat

These outdoor lake/pond/stream or even ocean fishing topics would be great for masculine birthday cards, scrapping adventures, etc. 

My youngest nephew has been fishing off and on going with a town buddy and this kid's grandpa. I was hoping he would join the bass fishing team at his high school last year but he declined. Maybe he will join this spring during his last semester!??!
